
JAKARTA – NASA has successfully launched its ambitious space mission to land a sophisticated rover robot named Perseverance to Mars. Using the United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V rocket, the launch was carried out from Space Launch Complex 41 at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida, United States (US).
Through its live stream, the rocket launch was broadcast at around 07.00 EDT or 18.00 WIB. The rocket launch process is broadcast via the official NASA channel on YouTube as well as live tweets from the social media network Twitter.

Later, Perseverance will replace the task of the Curiosity rover, which NASA launched a few years ago to Mars. This state-of-the-art rover is equipped with the latest instruments to run a number of experiments, including 43 sample tubes that will be filled with material from Mars to be sent back to Earth on the next mission.
